Welcome to the Edelweiss Club of Grand Rapids, a German/American club founded in 1980, located in the scenic city of Grand Rapids, 45 miles east of beautiful Lake Michigan.
We are a non-profit, social club designed to promote and celebrate German culture in many ways, including singing, dancing, biking, hiking, picnicking, and of course, celebrating Oktoberfest!
Since 1982, the Edelweiss Club of Grand Rapids has organized an annual Oktoberfest celebration, with a beer tent, German music, dancing, authentic German food, wine and more. Our wish is to bring the excitement of the Munich Oktoberfest here to the Grand Rapids area, and so we are extremely pleased to host Oktoberfest West Michigan at Riverside Park during the last full weekend of September For more information on this exciting event, go to http://www.oktoberfestgr.com/. We hope you can make it to Oktoberfest West Michigan, and experience for yourself the German notion of “gemütlichkeit”, or good times with good friends!
If you have an interest in German culture and activities, we invite you to check out our Events Calendar; several of our activities are open to the public. Our home base is the Latvian Hall, (a.k.a. the Latvian Credit Union) 504 Grand Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, 2 blocks north of Michigan Ave., halfway between College and Diamond. All of our meetings and several of our social functions are held here; centrally located, right off I-196, it’s an easy drive for most.
We welcome new faces, and extend to you a cordial invitation to come spend some time with us!
